March 2020 Provider Training Available

Registration is open for the March 2020 instructor-led provider training courses listed below. Slots are limited. WebEx courses can be attended remotely from any location with a telephone, computer and internet connection. Please note that as of January 1, 2020 the WebEx information has changed. Prior Approval Pharmacy (WebEx)

Tuesday March 10, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

This course will guide the authorized user through the process of submitting pharmacy prior approval requests, to help ensure compliance with Medicaid clinical coverage policy and medical necessity. At the end of this training, the authorized user will be able to:

  • Submit a pharmacy prior approval request
  • Determine status of prior approval requests

 

Provider Re-Credentialing/Re-verification Refresher (WebEx)

Wednesday, March 11, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.   

This course serves as a refresher for the steps taken by the provider to complete the Re-verification process through NCTracks. At the end of training, the authorized user will be able to:

  • Explain why provider Re-verification is requested and what the process entails
  • Complete the Re-verification process in NCTracks
  • Update Owners and Managing Relationships if necessary while completing Re-verification application

 

Prior Approval Institutional (On-site)

Thursday, March 19, 2020, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.  

This course will guide the authorized user through the process of submitting prior approval requests, to help ensure compliance with Medicaid clinical coverage policy and medical necessity. This course will also detail how to inquire about prior approval requests to determine their status. At the end of this training, the authorized user will be able to:

  • Submit prior approval requests
  • Complete prior approval inquiries

 

Submitting an Institutional Claim (On-site)

Thursday, March 19, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.   

This course will guide authorized users through the process of submitting an institutional (UB-04/837I) claim using the NCTracks web portal. The authorized user will learn what they need to know to file a claim and how to easily navigate the claims entry screens. At the end of this training, the authorized user will be able to:

  • Create an Initial claim
  • Save a claim draft
  • Use Claims Draft Search
  • Submit a Claim
  • View results of a claim submission
  • Perform a Claim Status Search
  • Copy a claim
  • Resubmit a claim
  • Void or replace a prior claim

 

Prior Approval Medical (On-site)

Wednesday March 25, 2020, 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.   

This course shows authorized users how to electronically submit and inquire about prior approvals for different kinds of medical services. After completing this course, authorized users will be able to: 

  • Submit prior approval requests
  • Complete prior approval inquiries

 

Submitting a Professional Claim (On-site)

Wednesday March 25, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.   

This course will guide authorized users through the process of submitting a professional (CMS-1500) claim using the NCTracks web portal. The user will learn what they need to know to file a claim and how to easily navigate the claims entry screens. At the end of this training, authorized users will be able to:

  • Create an Initial claim
  • Save a claim draft
  • Use Claims Draft Search
  • Submit a Claim
  • View results of a claim submission
  • Perform a Claim Status Search
  • Copy a claim
  • Resubmit a claim
  • Void or replace a prior claim

 

New Office Administrator (WebEx)

Thursday, March 26, 2020, 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.  

This course describes the process for changing the current Office Administrator (OA) to a new OA for an Individual Provider or Organization with a National Provider Identification (NPI) number or Atypical Provider. At the end of this training, authorized users will be able to:

  • Update the OA for an individual provider
  • Update the OA for an organization
  • Upgrade existing users to managing relationships

 

Training Enrollment Instructions

Providers can register for these courses in SkillPort, the NCTracks Learning Management System. Log onto the secure NCTracks Provider Portal and click Provider Training to access SkillPort. Open the folder labeled Provider Computer-Based Training (CBT) and Instructor Led Training (ILT). The courses can be found in the sub-folders labeled ILTs: On-site or ILTs: Remote via WebEx, depending on the format of the course.
