System Error Messages

System errors are reported by one of two methods:

• An error summary located at the top of the screen's active form
• Messages that pop up as a result of an invalid user interface action

Error Summary Messages

The Error Summary message displays one or more error notices that occurred during the data validation phase after the user presses Submit, Next or Previous.

Each error is represented by a line in the summary and, where applicable, the line is represented by a link allowing the user to navigate to the offending screen element by clicking on the error link.

Popup Messages

Certain User Interface (UI) actions require an immediate error notice, such as attempting to add a Data Table row that would violate the maximum number of rows allowed. In such cases, the user will receive a popup error notice explaining the error. Such popup notices will also have an "OK" button that the user can click to resume his/her data entry.
