Attention Dental Providers - A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid NATIONAL DENTAL STUDY: ROUND 2 - YOUR INPUT MATTERS!

Dear Dental Providers:

You are invited to participate in ROUND 2 of national study sponsored by the National Council on Disability (NCD) aimed at improving access to dental care for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). This is not just another survey that will sit on a shelf. Your responses to this questionnaire have the potential to drive real change.

For those of you who participated in Round I, thank you. Last month we disseminated Round I of the questionnaire to oral healthcare providers across the fifty states. In the Round I questionnaire we asked a number of open-ended questions to gain input and understanding of your practice behaviors regarding your treatment of Medicaid patients and individuals with I/DD.

From the many responses we received, we have developed the Round 2 Questionnaire. The Round 2 Questionnaire is much shorter and lists items most often noted by providers in Round I.

In Round 2, we ask that you help build provider consensus by indicating the level of agreement you have with a series of statements.

There are 11 questions in the Round 2 Questionnaire. We anticipate it will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

The National Council on Disability is the independent federal agency charged with advising the President, Congress, and other federal agencies regarding policies, programs, practices, and procedures that affect people with disabilities. The NCD has charged the Medicaid|Medicare|CHIP Services Dental Association (MSDA) with determining what policies and programs might incentivize dental providers to treat patients with I/DD through Medicaid.

MSDA is working closely with the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD), Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) and numerous other State Medicaid and Dental Plan partners to disseminate this Oral Healthcare Provider (OHC) Questionnaire across the 50 States. All oral healthcare providers are invited to participate. Each provider should submit only one response.

NOTE: If the person opening this questionnaire is an office administrator, we ask that you forward the link to all dental and dental hygiene providers in your practice.

All respondents who complete the questionnaire are eligible for entry into a lottery offering five chances to win $100.00

All respondents will remain anonymous. Please join us by clicking on the link below and be a part of a solution that can really make a difference.

Thank you.
