New Medicaid Bulletin Articles Available as of June 16

The NC Division of Health Benefits (DHB) has recently published new Medicaid Bulletin articles:

• OPTIONAL STATE ASSESSMENT (OSA) TRAINING- The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is ending support for Resource Utilization Group (RUG) levels III and IV on federally required assessments for patients residing in Nursing Facilities (NF) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) as of Oct. 1, 2023.
• NCDHHS Awards Contract for Comprehensive Independent Assessment Entity- Once fully implemented, beneficiaries and providers will have a single point of entry for obtaining LTSS programs in NC Medicaid Direct.
• DEADLINE EXTENDED - Provider Feedback Needed by June 23- Provider Feedback is needed to inform the design of the new Provider Data Management / Credentialing Verification Organization. Please complete survey by Friday, June 23, 2023
