A Message From NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid NCDHHS Health Disparities Analysis Report is Here!

We are pleased to share that the NCDHHS Health Disparities Analysis Report has just been published!

The 2024 North Carolina Health Disparities Analysis Report is the newest iteration of data reports developed by the Department’s Office of Health Equity. This report is the fifth and most comprehensive report over the 20-year span of preparing similar reports, with previous reports having been issued in 2003, 2006, 2010, and 2018. The focus of these reports is health disparities - preventable differences in health-related opportunities and health outcomes.

The 2024 NCDHHS Health Disparities Analysis Report: 1) Spotlights the top health disparities in which NCDHHS recognizes the greatest opportunity to make an impact in the next three to five years, 2) Measures and monitors the state’s progress toward eliminating the disparity and health status gaps experienced by populations who have been historically marginalized, 3) Describes NCDHHS services, programs, and resources that continue to address identified disparities, and 4) Amplifies action and solution-seeking strategies for the reduction of health disparities.

This year’s report focuses on six broad categories. These categories are the Social Drivers of Health, Access to Health Care, Chronic Disease, Communicable Disease, Mental and Behavioral Health, and Health Across the Lifespan.

It is our hope that this report serves as a guide and a resource to all of our great partners across North Carolina working to reduce health disparities. Everyone has a role to play in health equity, and we hope that you continue this journey with us!
