A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid NCDHHS Releases its Strategic Housing Plan
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) recently released the DHHS Strategic Housing Plan to eliminate barriers to housing and create quality affordable, accessible, and inclusive housing that supports the whole individual by improving services, funding, communication, and statewide coordination for the populations NCDHHS serves.
The Strategic Housing Plan will provide a strategic guide to focus NCDHHS’ policy efforts and resource decision-making in creating and maximizing community-based housing opportunities for people with disabilities. The Plan will focus on people with disabilities, including people with disabilities who are served by or who qualify for NCDHHS services. The Plan will have a cross-disability focus to include people with disabilities who are experiencing homelessness, living in an institution, or at risk of institutionalization. The Plan will help guide NCDHHS’ efforts in regards to community-based housing over the next five years (2024-2029).
