New Medicaid Bulletin Articles Available as of September 18

The NC Division of Health Benefits (DHB) has recently published new Medicaid Bulletin articles:

• Updates to Clinical Coverage Policy 5B, Orthotics and Prosthetics - An amended version of Clinical Coverage Policy 5B, Orthotics and Prosthetics promulgated on July 15, 2024.
• Reminder: Tailored Plan Managed Care Claims - Taxonomy Codes - Provider Taxonomy codes required when submitting claims to Tailored Plans.
• Processing Claims Affected by Medicare Retroactive Enrollment - Guidance for providers directly billing Medicare for services provided to patients with retroactive Medicare enrollment dates.
• Escalation Process for Standard Plan Provider Claims Payment Issues - Providers are encouraged to contact health plans to address any discrepancies in claim payment issues prior to escalating to the Provider Ombudsman.
