Now Accepting Applications for NCDHHS Credentialing Committee Peer Reviewers
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is now accepting applications for non-voting, volunteer peer review members of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) Credentialing Committee.

Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be an actively enrolled and credentialed provider with NC Medicaid
- Be in good standing (no current disciplinary actions, investigations or sanctions)
- Hold appropriate licensure and board certification (as applicable to specialty)
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in their area of practice
- Must be willing to comply with all applicable policies, procedures and ethical standards of the Credentialing Committee
Provider Types Considered
- Primary Care Providers
- Specialists (e.g., Cardiology, Psychiatry, Orthopedics)
- Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants
- Dentists
- Pharmacists/Durable Medical Equipment Providers
- Behavioral Health Providers
- Other provider types as needed
Participation Expectations
Selected peer reviewers will be contacted as needed based on their specialty, at least three business days prior to the meeting. Participation includes:
- Attending required trainings
- Attending Credentialing Committee meetings when assigned
- Reviewing provider credentialing files prior to meetings
- Providing objective, specialty-specific recommendations
- Maintaining strict confidentiality
- Disclosing any conflicts of interest and recusing themselves when appropriate
Note: GDIT will maintain a rotation schedule of peer reviewers to minimize overuse and ensure diverse input.
Additional Information
- Peer reviewer roles will serve for one year as needed, with the option to continue participation for a second year.
- The peer reviewer role is not a paid or voting position.
- Reviewers are engaged at the discretion of the Medical Director when specialty-specific expertise is needed during Credentialing Committee meetings.
- Resumes will be reviewed and eligible providers will be contacted by Sept. 1, 2025, if selected.
