Rate Reduction for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Prior Authorizations

Effective Nov. 23, 2025, a 3% rate reduction will be applied for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services. Because NEMT services are reimbursed based on the Prior Authorization (PA), the reduction will be applied to the approved PA amount as submitted to NCTracks from the county Department of Social Services (DSS).

The rate reduction will be applied if the:

• PA date of service is Oct. 1, 2025, or later; and
• PA is submitted to NCTracks from the county DSS on Nov. 23, 2025, or later.
