Innovations Waiver Program and Community Intervention Service Enrollment Updates
Innovations Waiver and Community Intervention Service (CIS) providers should be aware of updates to the Provider Permission Matrix (PPM) and NCTracks enrollment requirements. These updates have the following impact:
- Per NCGS 108C-3(g)(2), taxonomy 251S00000X is designated as High Categorical Risk, requiring a site visit and fingerprinting unless an associated national accreditation is active for the same location and service.
- Added Outpatient Behavioral Health Service (OPT) provided by Direct-Enrolled Providers as a selectable service under the Community Intervention Services (CIS) Service Type.
- Added the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) as a selectable accrediting body when reporting national accreditation for NC Innovations Waiver Services
- Modified Innovations Waiver Services as follows:
- Added these Innovations Waiver Program services that do not require national accreditation:
- Financial Support Services (including the new service type Innovations Waiver Program – Self Direction)
- Assistive Technology - Equipment and supplies
- Specialized Consultation Services
- Home Delivered Meals (taxonomy 332U00000X; Home Delivered Meals)
- Home Modifications (taxonomy 171WH0202X; Home Modifications)
- Vehicle Modifications (taxonomy 171WV0202X; Vehicle Modifications)
- Removed these Innovation Waiver Program services:
- In Home Supportive Care
- Developmental Disabilities
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
- Personal Emergency Response System (PERS)
- Case Management Service
- Hourly Nursing Service
- Community Integration Services
- Added these Innovations Waiver Program services that do not require national accreditation:
- Added the following Community Intervention Services which will require national accreditation within one year of enrollment in the new Service. The accepted accreditation bodies for each service are the Council on Accreditation (COA), Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL), and The Joint Commission (JCAHO).
