A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid NC Direct Care Worker/DSP Wage and Rate Analysis: Provider Survey Updates

The Provider Cost & Wage Survey deadline has been extended to Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, at 5 p.m. ET. The updated survey (v.1.2) reflects adjustments recommended by providers and primarily impacts Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) services (e.g. Innovations, 1915(i), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Use (DMHDDSUS)-specific services). Additional minor formatting changes and clarifications have also been incorporated.

If providers have not otherwise started completing the previous survey, they are encouraged to use this updated, improved version. If I/DD service providers have started completing the previous version of the survey and have questions about how to move forward, please reach out to Guidehouse at nc-analysis@guidehouse.com.

Goal for the Survey: The goal of the survey, commissioned by NCDHHS and the North Carolina Center on the Workforce for Health, is to better understand direct care workforce challenges, evaluate current reimbursement rates and inform future workforce and rate-setting strategies. Confidentiality: All survey results will only be submitted to Guidehouse and will remain confidential. Findings will be aggregated before publication. All materials are available on the NC Direct Care Worker Wage and Rate Analysis.
