Name Change and Accreditation Requirement for Facility-Based Crisis Services for Children and Adolescents

Effective November 8, 2026, the service previously known as Professional Treatment Services in Facility-Based Crisis Program - CHILD will be renamed Facility-Based Crisis Service for Children and Adolescents.

Providers currently enrolled in this service will be automatically transitioned to the newly named service in NCTracks. No action is required for this transition, and there will be no gap in service enrollment.

Providers enrolled in Facility-Based Crisis Service for Children and Adolescents must obtain national accreditation within one year of enrollment. Providers must ensure they meet this requirement and upload their national accreditation to their NCTracks provider record via a Manage Change Request (MCR) within the specified timeframe. Please reference the Provider Permission Matrix (PPM) for a list of accepted accrediting bodies.

For more information, see Behavioral Health, Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) webpage, featuring national accreditation FAQs or contact the NCTracks Call Center at 800-688-6696.
