NC Medicaid has updated enrollment requirements for Case Managers/Care Coordinators who provide Community Alternatives Program (CAP) services, including CAP-Consumer Direction, CAP for Children, and CAP for Disabled Adults.

Key Update:

  • The 171M00000X taxonomy is intended for Individual provider enrollment only.
  • Providers currently enrolled under this taxonomy as an organization must update their enrollment type by March 1, 2026.

What You Need to Do:

  • Individual Providers: Enroll or update your record in NCTracks using taxonomy 171M00000X and affiliate with your billing organization.
  • Organization Providers: Remove taxonomy 171M00000X and add 251B00000X via a Manage Change Request.
