Attention: All Providers NCTracks Coming Attractions: Updates to Pharmacy Prior Approval Submissions

On January 28, 2018, the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will implement updates to NCTracks pharmacy prior approval (PA) requests for Medicaid and Health Choice beneficiaries. New electronic PA submissions will be made available for the following drugs and the temporary fax forms will be removed:

  • Immunomodulators (Fax requests will no longer be accepted after January 27th)
  • PCSK9 Inhibitors (Fax requests will no longer be accepted after January 27th)
  • Daklinza (added to the Hep C web submission. Fax requests will no longer be accepted after January 27th)
  • Orkambi (added to the Cystic Fibrosis web submission and fax form)
  • Xolair for Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria (Web submission and fax form available)
  • Nucala (Fax requests will no longer be accepted after January 27th)
  • Entresto (Fax requests will no longer be accepted after January 27th)

Although submission requirements are being updated, the PA criteria will remain the same. With the implementation of the new electronic PA request submissions for these drugs, the previous temporary fax forms will no longer be accepted.
