Electronic Visit Verification Data for Home Health Visits and Claims

NCTracks has begun the process of capturing and storing Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) data for Home Health visits and screening for a match between information on claims and corresponding EVV data. 

Starting April 1, 2023, NCTracks will post edits (with a pay and report disposition) on claims billed for Home Health revenue codes when there is not a match between the recipient identification number (RID), date of service, provider NPI on the claim and the EVV data on file for the recipient. On July 1, 2023, these edits will be set to deny claims in NC Medicaid Direct.

The following edits will apply to professional and institutional claims with revenue/procedure codes 420, 424, 430, 434, 440, 444, 550, 551, 559, 580, 581 and 570:

  • Edit 00144 – FROM AND TO DATES OF SERVICE MUST BE SAME
  • Edit 02077 – ELECTRONIC VISIT VERIFICATION (EVV) NOT FOUND FOR THIS CLAIM LINE
