A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid Reminder: Inaugural Collaborative Care Model Behavioral Health Care Manager Summit Coming May 16

NCDHHS and NC AHEC are hosting a summit for Behavioral Health professionals (including college/graduate students) who are interested in learning more about the role and responsibilities of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM) on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the McKimmon Center in Raleigh.

The BHCM is responsible for coordinating treatment, within the primary care setting, for patients with mild-moderate behavioral health diagnoses and ensures effective communication with the patient, the patient’s primary care provider and the CoCM Psychiatric Consultant. BHCMs on a CoCM team utilize a unique set of clinical skills specific to practicing in primary care and other healthcare settings.

The inaugural NC AHEC BHCM Summit will include national and state CoCM experts, AIMS staff with NC ties, seasoned CoCM BHCMs, state government leaders, integrated behavioral health, subject matter experts and a primary care practice team who has successfully implemented CoCM in their clinic. The program is free to attend and 4.0 Nursing Contact Hours will be awarded to participants who attend 100% of this educational activity.
