A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid Ensuring Person-Centered Care for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the NC Medicaid Program
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) has released the policy paper: Ensuring Person-Centered Care for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the NC Medicaid Program.
In light of rising utilization and spending trends, NCDHHS conducted a review of its Research-Based Behavioral Health Treatment (RB-BHT) program. Based on this review, the paper presents proposed policy actions intended to align the program with national clinical practice guidelines, stabilize utilization and spending, and ensure access to high-quality, medically necessary care for children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
