Reminder- Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day 2026 Holiday and Checkwrite Schedule

Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, is Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day, which is a federal holiday, although not observed by the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) or GDIT.

However, in keeping with the published 2026 checkwrite schedule, because of the federal holiday, the checkwrite date this week will be on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026. The posting and availability of funds to provider bank accounts will depend on the provider's financial institution.
