A Message from NCTracks on Behalf of NC Medicaid Transition of Care Draft Policy Posting and Two Upcoming Webinars

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has two upcoming opportunities for stakeholders related to Medicaid Managed Care. While the implementation of Medicaid Managed Care has been suspended as legislative action is needed to move forward, the Department (DHHS) continues to work on the design of Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plans and the Transition of Care Policy.

  1. Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plan Request for Applications Pre-Release Policy Paper Webinar

On Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, from 3-4 p.m. EST, DHHS will host a webinar to discuss the Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plan Request for Applications (RFA) Pre-Release Policy Paper published on Jan. 30, 2020.

The webinar will walk stakeholders through the following remaining aspects of the Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plan design, including the procurement process, administration and entity management, financial management and monitoring, provider participation/contracting, quality and other programmatic features under Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plans. Registration for the webinar is required and can be completed here.

The Department welcomes feedback on the paper at Medicaid.Transformation@dhhs.nc.gov by Feb. 14, 2020. For more information, visit the Behavioral Health I/DD Tailored Plan webpage.

  1. Transition of Care Draft Policy Posting & Webinar

On Feb. 5, 2020, DHHS issued the NC DHHS Transition of Care Draft Policy for public comments detailing the requirements under which the Standard Plan Prepaid Health Plans (PHPs) will facilitate transition of care for members transitioning between PHPs or service delivery systems. The Transition of Care design intends to maintain continuity of care for each beneficiary and minimize the burden on providers during transition.

Due to the suspension of NC Medicaid Managed Care, this policy will go into effect when Medicaid Managed Care goes live. The Department will host an informational webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020, from 2-3 p.m. EST.  Please register for NC DHHS Transition of Care Policy Overview webinar here.

The Department welcomes feedback on the policy at Medicaid.Transformation@dhhs.nc.gov by March 6, 2020. For more information, visit the Transition of Care webpage.
