MFA Updates for Internal NCID Users (State & Local Government)

In accordance with the NC DIT Citizen Identity Project, NCTracks is changing the User Login process and implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) updates. We are requesting that all internal NCID users follow the steps below to add a sign-in method before Sept. 06, 2024:

If you are using the State Integrated HR-Payroll System (Beacon, LMS) no action is required as you are already enrolled in MFA.

  1. Go to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info?tenant=7a7681dc-b9d0-449a-85c3-ecc26cd7ed19
  2. Sign in using your State email address if that does not work use your NCID username followed by @nc.gov (e.g., If your NCID username is jdoe1 you will enter jdoe1@nc.gov).
  3. Enter your NCID password.
  4. Choose “Security Info” from the tabs on the left side of the screen.
  5. Click “Add sign-in method.” Phone number is the recommended sign-in method.
  6. Choose “Phone Number” from the drop down menu.
  7. Click “Add”.
  8. Enter your phone number.
  9. Select “Receive a code” or “Call me”.
  10. Click “Next”.
  11. If you chose to:
  1. Receive a code: Enter the security code you received to authenticate.
  2. Receive a call:  Follow the instructions on the call to complete authentication.

NCTracks will be implementing the new MFA updates in Production on Sep. 15, 2024. Once these updates are implemented you  are no longer required to access and maintin the MFA using https://mfaportal.nc.gov/nctracksmfa/login.aspx? instead use https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info?tenant=7a7681dc-b9d0-449a-85c3-ecc26cd7ed19 for any MFA updates.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. If you encounter issues during login and/or authentication refer to  Multifactor Authentication | NCDIT
